OSLO - Police in Norway made an arrest on Friday in the theft of two paintings by Edvard Munch.
"A man in his 30s was arrested Friday afternoon ... and charged with participating in the armed theft of the Munch Museum on Aug. 24, 2004," Oslo police said in a statement.

Police added that the two works in question, The Scream and Madonna, have not been recovered, but they remain "optimistic" about their chances of finding them.
Friday's arrest is the first one directly tied to the case, although officials have said that four arrests made earlier this week in Spain and Holland may help them find the paintings. ...
